Special Guided Tour on the Topic of the Witch Hunts

The Münstermaifeld City Guides Association

invites you to a special guided tour on the topic

“Witch Hunts in Germany and the Maifeld Region”

New research findings on a dark era in our history

Based on the documentation compiled by the late city tour guide Willi Schwarzmann and several colleagues at the Eulenturm in Münstermaifeld, new research findings on the topic will be presented, shedding new light on the perpetrator-victim relationship.
The witch hunts were a systematic persecution of people accused of being in league with the devil.
It is estimated today that between 40,000 and 60,000 people were executed in Europe. The majority of victims were women, but men and children were also affected.
The Enlightenment and reforms in the legal system led to the end of the trials.
The tour begins on September 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Tourist Information Center and then continues to the Eulenturm, where participants will climb to the first floor.
