Colorful leaves, bathed in beautiful evening light, rustling underfoot—magical moments when the fog lifts in the early morning hours. New potatoes! Pumpkins! Deppekoche! St. Martin’s lanterns in November.

Fall is a very special time in Maifeld. Now is harvest time for a special star: the potato! As you stroll through the narrow streets of a Maifeld village, the aroma wafts up to your nose—the Deppekoche is in the oven. A crispy, crunchy crust, soft and flavorful inside—made from the best potatoes—a real treat for the taste buds!

When the days slowly start to get shorter again, the leaves turn colorful, and the potato harvest is in full swing, there’s a special atmosphere on the Maifeld. It gets cozy, the air is filled with the scent of Deppekoche, and the landscape takes on a mystical quality.
